The point being, can I buy a blank frame from the far east for half the price that a Momsen branded one will cost? Thats all

Not this **** again. My unbranded chinese frame vs your branded frame...

Lets focus on this topic please.

I think R10,000 is a bit expensive. Could it be because it's all new to SA still and early adopters get the beating with the expensive stick.

ja nee i agree that these could be better priced considering the good pricing on their 29er... but i know it will be a small order so they wont get a bulk deal like 9ers. paint jobs cost a fair few pennies too. Pornstar (blackspade) looked at doing 650's as well i think though he has gone with the 29er dually option

If I was rich and had ten grand laying about I would happily pay that and not bat an eyelid, unfortuantly thats not the case. Us poor plebs have to go the el cheapo route :(

I'll def be in the Market for a FS (650) also.

Actually like the blank look.

Looks nice. I wonder if there will be a FS option as well. I'd definitely be interested

BUt i give Momsen a BIG up for going this route... having the balls to try it , personally think it should have been a dually though. When i first turned Lloyd from Cape Cycles arm to bring me in the first set of 650's from AC he went and ordered 30sets.... and then chickened out ... that was back in Jan 2011.

I am definitely going to give this a try. UD finish would be really nice.

Here's my Chinarello in UD Carbon. 29er though. The UD/Marble finish is awesome.

It may be cheaper to buy directly from the east, but will you have a warranty if it breaks?

Usually 2 years on frames. I dealt with them directly. They are SUPER keen on business and making sure you are happy. Friend of mine kicked his TT frame because he got pissed off with something - and the chainstay broke. He spun a story (I know, I know), and they sent him a new one the next day.

The mission is to find someone that speaks English good, and then you stick with them.

Interesting!

The following I do not mean to offend .... but you have not ridden this bike yet and have been defending it / promoting it aggressively.

Ride the bike a little first and then please provide feedback on how good the bike handles, as therein lies the true heart and soul of the bike.

I'm known to have a good few lie downs every now and then...so my main question would be...

If the Chinarellos aren't an established international brand, what guarantee do you have that they are made properly?

Ie. the carbon is woven properly or the correct number of layers.

I wouldn't want the front section to give way on me...owwwww...
