You are screwed Fand!

Bryton went and created their own new file system.

It is called .btx or some of the other I forget.

It won't be viewable if you connect the unit to your pc. It is also not compatible with most 3rd party software like SportTracks, Endomondo and obviously not Garmin Trying Centre.

You have to convert the file before you can do anything with it.

You're lost with it!

;)

you underestimate my nerdiness

So I did a little digging

i found this file - thaliaapplicationsCYCLINGDATAROUTEroute.dat

upon closer inspection it turns out its a sqlite database. So it looks like the device logs its info into an sqlite DB.

When i'm bored i'll write a quite utility to export bryton sqlite -> gpx. its really very simple.

I'll let you know when i'm done

I asked Bryton if they had plans to natively support direct downloads and here is their response (via their Facebook page):

"Bryton Sport Hi, Nicholas, we are still working on this plan but haven't had a firm date yet. We will announce it when it's ready. Again, thank you for your understanding and patience."

I have created a simple application to extract gpx files from Bryton devices. It works, but it needs a little bit of polishing before i release it.

the file extension is bdx, and it is supported by SportTracks since March this year.......... Unfortunately, the driver for the Bryton device does not allow access to the direct download feature. You still need to upload it First. And the temp Directory that the files are uploaded from also does not contain a cmpatible format :-(. See attached images. The gpx files n there I added myself

Yes it is working, it may still be a little buggy, but i'm using it and it works.

I uploaded it about a week ago at github: https://github.com/P.../bryton-offline

It is currently only available as source code so if you want to test you need to do some manual work and install some libraries to make it run, but its not very hard.

I will create binaries for windows later so it can be run with a single click without installing anything.

I have only done very limited testing on Windows because i'm using linux, but it seems to be working

I have only tested it with a Rider40, i don't know if it will work with other devices but hopefully it will.

Manual Install instructions for windows:

Requirements:

  • Python 2.7
  • PyQt
  • WebOb
  • BrytonBridge2

Install Python 2.7 from http://www.python.org/download/:

Install PyQt from http://www.riverbank...e/pyqt/download:

Download BrytonOffline from https://github.com/P.../bryton-offline:

Just unzip the file.

Install WebOb from http://pypi.python.o...ypi/WebOb/1.2.2:

If you don't know how to install python modules, just unzip the WebOb zip and copy the "webob" folder into the root of the bryton-offline source folder. (Same folder as the main.py file)

If you have installed everything above it should now be possible to run the application by double clicking on the

"main.py" file.

If you start the application before you connect the device and it says "Please connect you device", it may take a while (about 30 sec.) before the device is detected.
