This mornings training ride

What a great ride this morning.  I went out lekker early and it was so much fun, just riding.  I was quite surprised at the number of cyclists on the road (maybe the World Fun Ride Champs coming up?).  Saw a few hubbers along the way (Crux, you better watch IanJ and Zaskar, they train too much!!!), and messed with some members of the East Rands "Club we love to hate".  And the best feeling of all, getting home with the "lam" feeling in the legs, knowing you enjoyed every minute on the bike!  Delgado, thanks for the ride dude.

Now the warning, guys and gals in the East (Bedfordview/Edenvale area).  Keep your eyes open for the security vehicles.  These people have no saak with other road users.  The jaag like maniacs on the road (I would guess 100km/h+) and there is a 0% possibility of stopping at red traffic lights.  The worst of them are: ADT, Chubb and Champion Security.  If you see these guys, make a u turn get out of their way...

Thanks ewep, although here in the 'Vale and surrounds I haven't experienced too many hassles with security vehicles. Also watch out for the bread and newspaper vans.

Did the Boeing rd ext past St George Hotel to Olifantsfontein and back on old Irene main road, Cement trucks the big problem there, and the occasional taxi held together with Duct tape

Nice to see you guys on the road this morning. It was a really perfect morning for a ride, and im pleased i got up to train!

 

Yeah those bloody ADT bakkies, i hate riding in bedfordview because of them. like you say, no regard for the law, and no respect for cyclists. i think someone should actually speak to the security companies, or bring it out in the press, because its just a matter of time till they knock over a cyclist or a runner!

 

I even decided to change to Chubb (as you say the drivers are no better) because of the experiences i had with the ADT drivers along Van Buuren Road! when they asked why i left, i told them because their drivers are reckless, but i never took the matter any further.
