"ASG auctions - am i being too suspicious? " Take 2

Probably being sued by someone for breach of contract. The whole auction thing is crap. They dont even follow their own rules that they post as their "T&C's".

They just sell to whomever they feel like. Taken it up with my attorney. Have a watertight case but dont need the stress.

Too many biased followers.

Perhaps its time Slowbee and moderators either put a stop to all the auctions, or insist that they be conducted in a proper, 'legal' manner. All the ambiguity created and bent T&C's rules doesnt make sense. You dont have this sort of thing going on when you bid at eBay, Aucor, or Bidorbuy, so why here?

No. I actually deleted it. I was asked to do so by the OP as his questions had been resolved. Topic now closed again.

oh no............another day of making friends??

it is slowly shifting from not being my day - to not being my week. In the initial thread (the one I closed), Wayne had asked for it to be closed as his questions were answered.

Admin will have a look at this, as it is his call to make.

Personally I agree with you guys, there needs to be more clarity on the auction. They are getting more contested in the final few seconds. King Crispy had an interesting one when asking if the closing time was 22H59 or 23H00.

I think you are splitting hairs, being pedantic on something that I (wish to) believe was done in good spirit... Think of it like this: if there was no auction, would you have been betteroff than you are not winning it?

ASG, I suggest when you re-open your auctions, change your rules to state something like the following:

  • A bid needs to be at least R10 higher than the previous bid.
  • The auction closes when the bidding clearly stopped, at ASG's discretion, but as a rough guide, when no valid increased bid was received within 24 hours of the previous.

Or something to that effect...

On the whole these auctions have worked really well for a loooong time. Now all of a sudden there are new products on a shorter auction and some guys are crying foul.

The offers from ASG are stunning, a great deal and some fun on the auction.

Not many guys get pissed at the way it is run, it would be a shame for 1 or 2 disgruntled hubbers to spoil it for the rest of us.

Please asg, keep the auctions. If anything just clarify the cut-off as "a bid with 23:00" or "a bid with 22:59"

It's fine the way it is....

I think its very clear as it is.When it strikes 23.00 it is closed.so 22.59 is the last bid.Any bid at 23.00 is out!

It has always been held in good spirit and it should be maintained

And people now bid at 23:00 and claim they have won which is clearly incorrect.
