They are covering themselves legally.

 

Rotational and torsional stresses??? HAHAHA

 

Anyone who puts 650B wheels on any fork MUST (not should) check that there will be no interference when there is a bottom out situation, if there is make the appropriate rectification (e.g. new fork, spacers, etc.)

Putting a 650b wheel in a 26" will kill you.

 

Likewise not reading the manufacturers booklet when buying a new bike, riding without a helmet, taking pain killers and operating heavy equipment...

So what should they do? Keep quiet?

Of course they should cover themselves, esp in terms of the crown interference.

 

But the extra torsional and rotational forces are negligible and will not add to accelerated wear or failure
