What would the recommendations from the experienced be regarding tyre choices for the 2008 Sani 2 Sea?

Especially regarding tubeless tyres.

Running Vredestein killer bees 2.4 at 2 bar front and back,

Taking 2.2 Kenda Nevegals along justin case.

Lefty, I thought the go hard and skinny in the mud way of looking at things was a wacky way of doing things, does it realy work.

LIved in the Netherlands for 2 yrs and Wales for a 1 yrs so learneed my mud trade from the euro boys of the Post Kageko Cyclign club and the MTB Wales boys and gals.

Rode in Belgium (Malmedy, Spa, etc) , Netherlands , Germany (Swartzwald), Czech rep. and Switzerland. Then Wales, betws-y-coed, Nant-y-Arian, Thedford, Penines, LAke District, all different kinds of mud. The one thing that worked was narrow tyres  that gives you more clearance between the stays and reduces the amount of mud build up so you can keep rolling.

IRC MUD mad's are the best but they don't roll well on the dry stuff. Bonty makes a Mud tyre thats the best compromise.

try and see for yourself. Big fat tyres just collect more mus and then the tyre stops rolling.

Also riding the Geax Saguaro's and will ride them at Sani2C as well. Have not decided which 'wet' tyre to take along. Any ideas welcome.

I'm with GoLefty on this one (5 years in sunny Scotland is my 'mud' experience)

Mud X is a great racing tyre for wet weather - rolls fastish for such a tyre and good in all kinds of wet weather. Not so good in pure mud, when I'd go for Panaracer Trailrakers. (don't think one can get them here though, other than from my garage stockSmile)

Conti xc 1.5's still an old reliable option.

I'm going to ride on Scwalbe Nobby Nics 1.8/2.0's

I would agree with Dirt-rider. Kenda Karma 2.1 are good for both dry and wet conditions. How easy is it to change tubeless tyres if there is a sudden downpour over night - I mean if you want to use tyres that are really good in mud but nor so good in dry conditions.

Lastly - anyone ever sprayed their bike with Mr Min to reduce mud sticking to the frame - remember reading that somewhere but have never tried.
