_Daemon_ Posted August 23, 2012 Share Go for a 29er hardtail, mtb so ride anywhere, and the 29er wheels with slicks makes the bike that little bit faster and better on the road if you do plan on going on some group road rides.

MariusC Posted August 27, 2012 Share Get that Giant you posted earlier. But then again you should maybe start with a Hard tail to build up some skills first

Escapee.. Posted August 27, 2012 Share I follow MotoGP, I don't have a full race preped GP machine. Exactly! I have always been a cycling fan but never really thought of riding myself. Also been working on Saturdays for the last 4 years so between golf and family etc I haven't had the time. I haven't read the thread but have you considered 2nd hand? I have but I haven't really seen anything that I like or that fits within my budget. Not a big fan of buying second hand, but I wont say no to a good deal
Showtime Posted August 27, 2012 Share What do you guys think about this? http://www.thehubsa....m&item_id=36397 If medium is your size just buy that bike. I ride an Anthem X and enjoy it very much, cost me over R22k new though so that's a bargain. It will give you more enjoyment than any 29er hardtail.
