I agree. Thought there was gonna be a bit of singletrack so rode 32:18. Spun about 3years off my life. Haha

Same here! I longed for some inclines just to ease the spinning out.

I was on a 32x16 and felt it was a wee bit light. 32x15 was probably too harsh.

32x15.5 for me next time he he he.

Ok ok 31 or 30x16. Ahh fook - too complicated. Whatever is on next year I'll ride.

Scrap that - the Down'n'Dirty'dusty'shotcutty'baclmarkercrazy is off my xmas list.

Hey Eldron, yeah I was on a Ti iSpydafly frame with a Niner fork. Jules makes us look silly, he is unbelievably strong! I had lunch with him afterwards and he ordered a rump. Not sure if it was Spanish beef though.

Well done to all on SS bikes, good job.

Sweet bike! Saw the review in Tread and it is indeed a purdy thang!

There are so many hubssers it's probably time we get a sponsorship together.... Matt! How is the advertising budget? You send us kit - we send you customers/traffic ;-)

I'm fairly certain it was Jules that passed you - he is crazy fast on SS, road, geared, wheel chair or anything with wheels really.

Sounds like you have th perfect bike for SSWC!

@jc - my pleasure sir! Many more to be shared in Winterton!

It might also have been Morne Styger. He was riding a silver 9er SS and was ahead of me for the first ten km of the race. Unfortunately Morne had to pull out because his chest was giving issues.

That was one of the hardest SS races I've done. Was constantly on the limit trying to match the pace of the geared bunch I was in.

Burry must have shat himself checking a SS keeping up.

I did the 40km, running 38x20 (strange ratio, I know, don't ask)

Was a perfect ratio for me for the climbs, the few that there were. I had a cadence sensor on the bike for the first time ever cos I thought I was mashing too much and I was worried that I didn't have leg speed, until I saw 120+ for most of the course! Hehe

VG is going to be tough but fun as hell! See you all there for more SpykerBombs!

Jules

It has been discussed at length and decided please can you not comment on this post. We were talking about you. Not TO you. This is a place where us mere mortals can talk. Even Eldron is here by the slimmest margine.

Hahaha. Jokes great race bud Thanx for representing.
