I was initially diagnosed with Pneumothorax, which is air escapes your lungs because of trauma and goes into your muscle, that healed (kinda) and then i tried to run (bad idea) and had massive pains. Went for xray and not broken bones, now the diagnosis is a buised heart (myocardial contusion). Its an injury mostly associated with car accidents, espcially when the driver catches the steering wheel in the chest ... fml

Sorry to hear man. Take it easy and get yourself sorted.

Does anyone know what an Easterly wind would make the wind like on the cycle?ph34r.png

The easterly wind will make the swim a bit tougher i.e. bigger swells, but it will help to cool down on the run. But I am sure the forecasts will change over the next couple of days.

Awesome, thanks for the feedback!

Is everyone elses feet ITCHING to smash this one?

Actually I am. I know im gonna be hurting. But its weird, Ive made peace and accept it, and cant wait to get out there and see what I can do. Given the short time frame Ive had to train.

Is everyone elses feet ITCHING to smash this one?

I am excited, I want to go sub 6 hours after finishing just under 6h08 last year. I think my swimming and cycling is a bit better than last year, but I am not too confident looking at my goal times below.

Swim 40min

T1 7min

Bike 3h10

T2 5min

Run 1h55

Total 5h57, if I can do that, I will feel as if I've smashed the course.

So this morning I wake up with an itchy nose and throat. Not good news 10 days before race day. Any advice on how to make sure this does not turn into a cold/flu?

Hoping for

35 min swim

T1 5 min

Bike 2:50

T2 3 min

Run 1:45

Total 5:18

Will be happy with anything under 5:30, the run is the big questionmark

We are going for a very similar goal race!! What wave you starting in?

Here's my best case scenario:

Swim: 0:35

T1: 0:05 (provided I remember to put my bib on)

Bike: 2:45

T2: 0:05 (provided I remember to take my bib off and put on some sunscreen)

Run: 2:15 (probably more like 2:30)

Total: 5:45

But to be honest, I'll be ecstatic with anything under 6 hours as it's my first long(ish) distance tri.

Looking back on my preparation, I probably should have spent a bit more time running and less time on the bike...
