Hell. What a windy ride! I can still taste the dust blowing across the mielie field. Many lazy buggers who will do anything to cling to a wheel in front of them

Organisers took a gamble with our safety with the 60km ride doing a out and back on the same road. The road is just too busy, no shoulder, plenty trucks and irate motorists who can't pass as cyclists are coming and going in both directions.

Shame on orgs for no prizes for 105km open cat winners, even though they had prizes for the 60km open.

What can I say, WINDY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thought i was in desert storm :w00t: That open stretch just before Bapsfontein i could hardly see 20m in front for the dust.

Enjoyed the ride, only did the 60km but rode to the start and back home which added another 30km of riding so 90km for the day. Started in last group and was quite nice for a change to pass many riders. I did not have any particular problems with traffic on the route, but have heard from a few other riders that did.

When will we have a race without wind???? This year is bad. Did the 60 with my wife. Just as well otherwise I would still be waiting for her. :whistling: Thought the race was well organised. Agree that the start could have been a bit earlier.

I also did the 60. Didnt have any issues with traffic but there was a lot of irate drivers.

Wind was pumping when we turned by Bapsfontein..can still taste the dirt in my mouth

Only crash I saw wad before the race..someone warming up. Looked serious..

what a windy day, :( , worst wind i have ever experienced! granted this is only my 2nd year riding lol

i was averaging 44km/h in the first hour and a bit, then hit the bloody wind, got spat out the group and spent most of the time battling the wind on my own

only managed a 3:23 :( wind cost me my first sub 3.... oh well - next time :)
