internet promo shot, or the real deal? either way, looks damn yummy

Real deal! I posted a pic of the buns I baked in the cooking thread. I did, however, use an Instagram filter for the photo.

I love vetkoek with mince, we often order a few of them to have for lunch when we're at Gariep for holiday. We get them from a shop in Venterstad.

There is this takeaway place in town where I buy.. well when I am lucky enough to get there and they still have normally all sold out by 1pm...medium is the size of a side plate and the large the size of a dinner plate they are very generous with their toppings too..and the vetkoek itself is not oily.

You haven't eaten a vetkoek until you have eaten a Gunter's vetkoek.

Vetkoek at Gunters and Vetkoek at Gariep would = to fat Grams I assume.

One vetkoek would be enough for me, and in moderation, otherwise I'll end up looking like a vetkoek.

I've just phoned someone who's in that area and they say that that place has closed up, dammit.

If you visit either the Oviston or Venterstad flea market, you should be able to get a vetkoek from there. Apparently there was a flea market in Oviston on the 2nd, not sure when the next one will be.
