Something you have designed...

Something you have adapted...

Something you have built...

Something you fixed in an unconventional manner...

Show it off here so we can all get ideas!

I'm new to riding and came up with this, am I the first to have done it or am I catching on late...

I dont like lots attached to my handle bars!

When I was a kid I put a playing card in the spokes. I heard the sound, and thought, brilliant!

So, does that count?

Playing cards pffffft.....only real kids used bits of cigarette boxes

Yeah - already posted on another thread - how to hang a bike on the wall for under R10, and by drilling just one hole:

Doesnt this scratch the handle bars? I guess you could just put a piece of rubber on the wall.

No it doesn't. The only points of contact are the rubber hoods and the seat-rails, and it doesn't damage either. Or the wall. When I first started doing this (many years ago) I used to make a kind of cushion on the wall - then I realised it's not necessary. The actual pressure on the hoods is minimal, and there's no movement. With the mountain bike, I adjust the bar-ends so they contact the wall.

I have another one. I used to hold up my tights with old-fashioned braces! I hate the way that tights slip down - and even some cycling shorts. And I'm not a fan of bib shorts, because I always need to go to the bog before a race, and... well, if you've struggled with bib shorts in a portaloo, you'll know the problems. But braces are the aces! The only problem is that the little metal clips rust, from all the sweat. I threw my old pair of braces out when the clips stopped functioning, and I keep meaning to get another pair. They're even coming back into fashion.

My estates manager deserves a mention on this topic. You should see what that oke can do with old bicycle tubes (I know Johan, I should mend them). From lopped over the saddle to hang the bicycles from the roof, mending the garden hose/sewer pipe to making a monkey proof dust bin lid. The man is brilliant.

The lock nut on my cassette was refusing to budge, so eventually I rigged up this using a plank and an old chain:

It was so tight, it stripped the lock nut tool and eventually took my buddy to hold the wheel, while I put my weight on the torque wrench!
