OK before you okes crucify me, with CRC do they have a "country availability" policy? What I mean by this is I want to get a RaceFace handlebar. When I'm looking at the items and my country is set to GB I see all the RaceFace items. As soon as I log in and my country is the good ol' ZAR no RaceFace items are available. Have done numerous CRC purchases but this is the first time I picked up on it.

 

Anybody else experience this?

 

BTW, the same handlebar is 200 bucks cheaper at Buycycle - they dont have my colour though...

Never noticed this but that's probably because whenever I login in it's under ZAR.

 

What I can say is there were definately RaceFace items there last week as I purchased some, including pink bars for the missus...

I had the same issue with some RaceFace chainrings in my wishlist this weekend, had to remove them before I could get an FSA Crankset. Seems they have now applied an exclusive distribution policy, like Mavic. Pity, I liked there products.

I emailed them and they told me they have an agreement with Mavic that they don't sell anything Mavic to South Africa.

All I can think of is the local importers have been complaining about their local sales.

I presume the same goes for RaceFace.

That's interesting - so our importing is hurting their margins. I guess they have a point though.

Seen it for Mavic stuff, but I don't care, the suppliers don't even bring in any of their apparel but we can't order. Use mail forwarding services - not sure if thats available in the UK though. But plenty stores in the states...
