Saturday - 100k road ride (sorry mate!) - through the Suikerbosrand nature reserve. Pretty windy on the way back but after the vets tour my boet and I are quite used to the 2 man time trial thing!

Sunday - 20k MTB through the new trails at Rietvlei Zoo farm - got a quick MTB technique training session from Byron! Won't help much I'm still just as slow on those technical, twisty, rocky downs!

Dirt Rider, I missed my MTB terribly this weekend, but seeing as she's still muddy from Wednesday, I'm going to have to chisel the mud off before I can take her out to play!

I went road riding, only 40km on Saturday, and B and I went hiking in the Magaliesberg on Sunday. In and out of 3 kloofs: Boulder Kloof, Tonquani and Cederberg. So it's understandable that I'm so sore today!

OK, Saturday a 35km, 2 hour with MichH, Amateur et al.  Then some nice interval and "loop en val" training with DR at Logwood.

As for Sunday, a good 135km training ride by myself and then with friends

A gathering of the clan at the top of each hill was the norm - the sound of beeping HRM's and rasping breaths broke the tranquil setting Northern Farms on these occasions.

Downhill nutters in the next few shots. Those with dirt for brains even tried jumping the humps at crazy speeds

The dirt brainers didn't get their shots taken, since they were already forming the gathering of the clans and comparing max speeds, which is the same as comparing the size of their d%$# (sorry ladies)

The next string of pics was a section which determines if one can make up their minds or not. Which way to go????? Most passed, which is an achievement for the guys since the can only use one side of their brain at a time - Ride ahhhhhh Decision ohhh ride again ahhhh Decision.........2006-08-15_085703_DSC00774.jpg

Yess, once again teh dirt brains were not in the pics, I couldn't cacth up with them. Everytime they were overtaken, they thought it was a challenge and disappeared......

These pics were on the single track somewhere in NF. Dirt brains were way ahead again. A little more technical (Had to ride with both hands).

A little steep hill with loose gravel - no chance of an action shot, seems more brains involved here.......

The same steep rise, from the top. A Dirt Brains rider having a go at it.

The traffic jam to get down again. Ok, so there was a little tree root in the way with the odd two tree trunks to squeeze between, all on soft loose sand.....but still, I needed an action shot here!  (The nutters had gone through already)

And yes there were shouts to "Ride It". I thought I would got my action shot, but alas, common sense prevailed - needless to say the dirt brains were joined by some normal riders.......probaly would have got shots of a medivac helicopter. (Those who don't know, this is normal for Logwood)

The homeward plod. These were taken while riding, trying to create an action shot of my own....it looks much easier in the movies.

MichH's Dad, busy ignoring me - Ok, maybe I shouldn't have said "Hey Gramps, look here!"
