You guys can be lucky. I've been waiting since 16 of September for my parcel.

Yesterday there still wasn't anything at PO.

Farking strikers!

Ordered on Saturday.

Normal mail, this is for xMas for Wife...

Hopefully I gave myself enough time.

No rush.

Hopefully by the time it gets to SA the strikes are over and some level of productivity is back at Postnet.

Should be enought time.

Well, I've got all the time in the world (meaning no deadline), but you know how it is when you order something sweet for your bike like some Easton Haven wheels thumbup1.gif . It always seem to take forever blink.png

Enter your tracking number into the parcel track search http://www.parceltrack.co.za/ and it should give you the local tracking number. If not phone them on 0860 111 502 (takes a while for them to answer) and give them your parcelforce number and they will advise you the local tracking number and where it is.

If they say it is at your local PO and you have not received a slip saying so you can still go to the PO with the local tracking number on a piece of paper and collect it.

Know that feeling...

But with my wheels I went all out, 4 day DHL shipment.

Still took to long for my nerves.

@bianchi - that calculator works brilliant...

It does indeed. Mine was almost spot on, just a small margin of error for the rate of exchange used by customs.

It all comes down to what you order. Clothing (helmets and shoes included) always makes customs smile because of the high tax rate.

http://www.dutycalculator.com/ is a pretty handy tool and gives a fairly accurate idea of what you will pay at the end of the day.

Do you also pay for duties when ordering pedals and other cycle accessories (hardware) ?

Mostly duty free, but you still pay tax.

Total: Tyres, according to it is 30%. Electronics 15.4% Other hw: 15-30% depending on what it is.

I suspect that ParcelForce may be cheaper than DHL when it comes to duty etc. Sometimes with PF I either don't get charged, or get charged not a lot. My last order I had DHL'd and they asked about 20% duty/vat and R100 'disbursement' fee - which made it up to about 30% on the order plus shipping total.

Now I look at the DHL docket and there is says I need to pay R228 vs the R3hundred something that DHL emailled me and said I need to pay.

Have mailed them about the discrepence and of course have heard SFA.
