So... I bought a bike.

After a few weeks of whining that I didn't have a bike, I finally saw something that caught my eye at Cash Converters.

I am now the proud owner of a South African classic - the Hansom.

Paid R899, which I think is fair for what it is.

As I likes my photo pr0n, I took some shots -

She looks like this -

So.

Question is this. What do you think I should do to make her whole?

I'm going to replace the seat for starters, as thats a bit patchy, I also would like to raise the handlebars somewhat, but they're pretty much as high as they go without falling off, so any ideas there?

Now that brings back memories! Give her a good service and just as important, get it set up properly for you. I would get some clipless pedals too. Happy cycling!

"Ride her" - of course! Its what I bought her for... tongue.png

Or do you all like to hang them up as object d'art in the garage? rolleyes.gif

@LeTurbo - I'll take some photos tomorrow when its daylight with a proper camera.

I've already adjusted her as much as I can to my frame. Moved the seat down, the handbars up, centred the wheels better, and swore at the people that were on the chain last (as one does). Assuming it doesn't rain I'll give her a quick ride tomorrow evening.

I have some LED lighting for the wheels that I brought in a while ago from .cn so I can be moderately safe, even though its never 100% with Taxi's and other crazies in the road!

I don't get it?

As you will learn, all photos of bikes/gear are to be taken on a couch to be accepted on the Hub.

Good luck with the restore job.

I thought it was only bikes that are for sale that go on the couch?

(Thanks Shanghailoz! Just keep priorities in order - ride, ride, ride first. Photies later.)
