It's true he is not the most lovable kid on the block, yet he and Kevin hit it off really well.

It's just life that some will get along with one but others won't.

He certainly didn't help his cause in the past.

Talented, yes of course, as with L.A. I will echo that with or without the dope he has talent.

Am I glad this has come to light, more than you can imagine, now they can get all and sundry, from the club sponsored rider right trough to the top.

Time to take doping, and testing thereof serious in this country.

and CSA just like UCI should sort there **** out. This has been going on under there noses far to long. The club level is full of it MTB and Road. Test some of the no pros and you will see.

Don't set yourself up for more disapointment there... Tyler Hamilton is publicly casting doubt on Jens as we speak...

You all really seem to be showing incredible trust and belief in this doofus.

702 reported on the radio this morning that Malcom Lange had his suspicions due to some of DG performances.

what a way to start the morning - why did he not speak up earlier ? Why not make the anonymous phone call and ask for a test ?

Perhaps, and just maybe perhaps we could all learn a little from the Armstrong saga.

Also, I am not saying this is the case here, but when you are as equally deep up to your shoulders as the next guy ,it's better to just keep quiet and express your disgust after the fact.

When would testing needed to be done concerning EPO, from what I've gathered it leaves the system after 6-12hrs, would tests be done straight agter a race, weeks before or still continue with the random testing, which does not seem to be effective enough to me.

There was rumor at the time that CSA was turning a blind eye to what was happening and i think Chunky mentioned the same thing.

The drugs won't necessarily make you perform like hell on the day, and it's already been said that it was an out of competition sample.

This is the part that confuses me. What does this mean? No results stripped? Was he "recovering" in prep for the next big race when he would race clean? So many questions...

As I understand it, results stripped from the time of the test.

Without proof it would be stupid to say something...you risk everything so that you oust someone. Not a smart move

Apparently his "blood passport" raised some questions and he was then possibly targeted.

There are a lot of pros who have been vocal on this issue who have no right to be critical.

Actually very smart move by the testers....me thinks they knew they were going for gold in CPT...in particular stage 2. They are not fools and know how these drugs work and when would be the most effective time to take in prep for it. They just came knocking on that day....boom positive sample.

I was reading on one of the sites that Bob posted on EPO many pages back on how to take the stuff, they were saying that it should be taken 2-3 weeks prior to the event in order reap the max benefits.

On the positive side, this situation pointed out to the naive that MTB isn't as clean as they thought; initiating the start of a cleaner discipline (hopefully.)

EDIT:

"Weekly dosage varies 50-300 IU per kilogram of body weight. By this guideline a 176 lb (80 kgs) athlete would take a maximum of 4000 U per injection. This would be done in the days/weeks prior to a competition, the peak effect hopefully reached near the day of the event. Sportsmen starts feeling results after two weeks of usage (hematocrit level increases 3-4%). Most of specialists agree that one should not use erythropoietin for more than six weeks!"

As much as I said before, Fitzy , where is Fitzy now so he can make stupid assumptions yet again.

So due to my decision not to partake in any racing for the last 12 months I might have lost touch with reality or might just be naive.

Do you guys really believe that club / non-pro riders are doping as well?

Why would they put their bodies and health at risk?

I am not questioning your statements, I am just trying to understand what they would gain. Are they hoping to be spotted by a sponsored team? This is really sad fi this is the message that gets communicated to our juniors
