G... Posted November 7, 2012 Posted November 7, 2012 Hi Guys Am I beeing to difficult on this one or is it the done thing at cycle technix? I took my bike in on Monday for a full service and to replace my chain. The sales person assured me bike will be done the next day. I waited an eventually called them, the response was we will start tomorrow (Tuesday). I decided to pop in today and see the progress they had made. Yet again I was assured it will be done today, I got a call at 15:47 to say they haven't started on my bike. Has anyone else had the same problem, I'm feeling a little uneasy with these guys now. I want peace of mind cycling and I feel my trust with them has been broken. I get the feeling, they doing me a favor by servicing my bike??? ThanksNewbie

Hairy Posted November 7, 2012 Posted November 7, 2012 Gareth Gareth Gareth ..... A friend of mine a few years ago took his bike there to get his rear der hanger replaced. They never had the one for his bike, but they had a similar one. The wrench then proceeded in filing down the frame in order to get the hanger they had in stock to fit his frame. Needless to say I have not been in there in years now. Take your bike to Cycles Direct, they might be a little more expensive though they do deliver. Good Luck.
G... Posted November 7, 2012 Author Posted November 7, 2012 Something is very strange, as I said 15:47 they had not started my bike. At 16:36, I got a call from the same sales person saying my bike is 85 percent complete???? This sounds almost impossible to me...... Any advice for when I fetch the bike, things to look for that you would notice on a service.

G... Posted November 7, 2012 Author Posted November 7, 2012 The Dutchman, I really hope you are right. They around the corner from where I stay, hence why I went there. My biggest concern, is they need to be more transparent. Rather say it as it is and don't leave a person doubting.
ccc2 Posted November 7, 2012 Posted November 7, 2012 2 hrs for a service (if the mackie knows what he is doing) , stripped down, cleaned and reassembled. if new parts have to fitted then it would take longer if they don't have stock.
