Pushed by guys in Red Tazz around Misty Cliffs

This is probably a bit of a pointless post, but anyways, here goes.

I was riding along misty cliffs (heading in the Kommetjie direction) late this morning when I felt a car too close for comfort, almost like I was being forced off the road, just then the front passenger leaned out of the window and smacked my right arm as they drove past, definitely intentionally, knocking it right off the handlebars.

I thank God I was able to keep control somehow with one hand.

There were two cyclists quite far ahead of me and I saw one of them looking around as the Tazz went past them, so I dunno if they tried anything with them.

The car was a slightly faded red Tazz with white CA license plate and I think 3 guys in it.

Anyways, be safe folks, there are some miserable people out there.

(In other news, how lucky are we to have this place to ride in? Despite the wind it was a beautiful day to be out on the bike thumbup1.gif )

Next time someone tries that, grab the guy's arm and yank... he will let go very quickly :D

Glad you're ok though. Not a very nice experience when a bunch of a-holes try to make your ride an unpleasant experience.

Definitely not a pointless post. Thanks for sharing. Raises awareness for others. You never know how this information could assist in the future as often behaviour of this nature is not a once off.

Sorry to hear, not pointless. Sounds like they were trying to cause a crash and perhaps pick up a bike to sell for tik money. Hope the next gut gets their reg. no. and lay a charge of some kind.

You can write it up as assault with intent to cause grievious bodily harm, or possibly even a mva with fleeing the scene of a mva.

Thanks. I did think about that, but I really doubt it is worth the time, I couldn't pin anything on them. If only I'd been filming with my GoPro this time.

If they had been going for my bike they would have been bitterly dissapointed wink.png but this one seemed pretty vindictive, like it was "just for fun".

edit: Thanks for all the comments guys, I'm glad nothing worse happened too! Won't let idiots like this put me off though.

Similar incident happened to us this morning.

Youngsters in a white bakkie came very close to us with the passenger hanging out the window clapping and cheering in an arrogant sarcastic way.

Same thing happened last Saturday morning.

Friday night revellers? It's happening too often though.

Idiot in the good ole SA leaned out of the window to slap a guy on a bike whilst doing about 60....completely dislocated his own shoulder. Guy on the bike had a small tumble and a bit of a bruise where idiot's hand connected.

Not pointless.

Very relevant.

Your Spiderman sense tingled as you felt unsafe.

Crazy folks.

Could be a bunch of pranksters. Doped up or drunken.

I had a sImIlar experIence but beIng hIt wIth a paIntball gun! Pretty scary and frIggen sore!

Eina.

Had some joyriders shooting roadsigns in Pta with paintball guns once, the Metro took it as "shots fired at roadsigns" and arrested the crap out of the guys.

Oh, for a nice lead fishing sinker at the right time. But if I carried everything for my revenge plans (tazers, guns, sticks, pepper spray, etc) I'd have a 100kg bike.
