They are obviously good in snow, but if you read up on them the big volume tyres allow you to run very low pressures which provides a level of cushioning, making a rigid ride comfortable over rocks, gravel and roots and providing a huge amount of grip in sandy conditions... Just an interesting concept and something different to talk about ;)

They just look like they would be difficult to pedal (maybe only for my skinny ass legs), there's are some nice pics here:

Ja I agree. They do look tough to pedal (and control actually). Apparently not though. I have a pic of a duallie fatty. Will load tomorrow.

There is also the possibility of converting the front of my KM to accept a 26x4" tyre

 

All I need is a Rolling Darryl rim, tyre, 135mm hub, oh and a new fork :)
