Cyclist down at Llundudno this morning

Yeah, and on that note - was riding the spruit on Sunday and saw two guys riding without helmets. I made a comment about it and their reply was "why, i have never ridden with a helmet on in my life why must i start now".............

 

yesterday i saw two guys (not together) riding up and down chappies without any helmet. very stupid. when crashed recently my helmet saved my head from being split in two...

Helped a guy last week that crashed on the hairpin of Ou Kaapse Weg. Helmet smashed and there was STILL swelling on his head. Took him to medi-clinic Constantia with his friend but had to rush off as I had other cyclists to take care of (was on a cycling tour of our own!). Hope he was treated as he didn't have medical aid...

Chubba, glad to hear your bud is ok. Hope he's completely better and back on a bike soon.

Hope he gets well soon. I always thought that was a pretty safe spot, wide road, good sight distances etc.... I guess the motorist didn't quite appreciate the speed that he was going, which was probably quite fast, coming down from the top of Suikerbossie.

People who don't wear helmets annoy me just a little less than people who drive around with loose kids in their cars... WTF are seatbelts for? ornaments?

 

Find a nice piece of fast singletrack and practice your trackstands - just in front of him... make sure you brake hard...

Update: Been released from hospital, MRI is clear and he has to take it easy on the knee for 3-4 weeks. Very lucky!
