Wear the PPA pass 1.5m cycling shirt

I bought a PPA pass safely shirt when they came out but, to be honest, have not worn it enough.

 

I believe we can make a lasting impression if all cyclists where to wear the same shirt one day a week, advertisers tell us repetition builds awareness, imagine the impact of a highly visible message seen by every motorist passing a cyclist one day a week, all in bright yellow with the same message: give me space when you pass me.

 

Let's use the memory of Burry to make a permanent difference.

i think the "1.5m message" is a waste of a mesage. its subliminal, people(motorists) see it but don't take notice. its the problem we cyclists have with motorists, we are invisible to them, they can't seem to judge where we are on the road in relation to their vehicle whether its them passing us, turning right and cutting us off, turning into our right of way. they just take chances with us knowing that we are more alert and will take drastic evasive action to avoid a collision. my 2 cents

The PPA Safe Cycling tops cost R150. Email Tiffany@pedalpower.org.za to get a order form. Normally a 3 weeks wait on the order but I know they currently have extra stock, so can just pop into the office.

If one person sees it and takes note, that's enough for me. I think we must do all we can, using whatever we have, wherever we can. Try it, you'll like it.

Motorist certainly notices it. There is a month wait from placing an order with the PPA. You also cannnot be guaranteed that the size you receive will fit.

it says R175 on their website, still a must for every cyclist though.

It is an actual cycling jersey but only 1/4 zip.
