Seen those Scott colours personally, very lumo.

Not liking this new fashion of using bright colours. Just my personal taste.

You're living in GP now...right? Are you joining us at 139 on the 22nd and 23rd?

I cant give the actual link to the intense

http://enduro-mtb.com/en/long-term-test-bikes-2014/

but go there, click previous bikes and find the intense carbine 29, do some reading...

yeah, you can count me out of anything carbon and intense.

One of the reasons that guys bike broke is him not servicing the pivot bearings. Intense has a big following in the US and Canada and no other real issues to report of? Tracers are built for enduro and thus a stronger bike-the bike above is a tracer. Carbine is a trail bike-very capable trail bike. Die ou het dit net deur sy gat getrek.

it might have been a one time thing, just a few times.

i know youve got an intense, how are you finding it, had any frame issues?

it might just be me but one of the top requirements of a bike for me is how reliable/idiot proof is it, i understand that if you take good care of your bike it will last longer and feel better, but i also want to be able to not worry about things like bearings and cracks, let alone everything else that goes wrong on bike excluding the frame, i barely have enough cash to keep up with that! i want a bike that can stand through my idiotness!

I owned a Intense 5.5 aluminium years ago and loved the bike. Currently i ride a Bronson and love the bike. (previously had a Tall Boy) Personally I think there is not one brand that wont have a horror story somewhere on the internet. Suppose luck of the draw? I broke two brand new carbon frames in a row, same spot on the frame... not a bad brand..just a weakness on those two frames! They replaced it both times, I must admit after the second brake, I sold the the third "new" frame.

No manufacturer has ever had a 100% success rate with frames. Telling everyone that Intense and carbon frames are a no no is a useless comment.

Same could be said for the Specialized enduro in this article: http://singletrackworld.com/forum/topic/cracked-2012-s-works-enduro-frame

Yes I have had some issues, one was me hitting the swing arm on a rock and cracking the carbon. I've had to spend some money on the pivots and servicing bearings and stuff.

Bikes like the sworks, Tracer Factory build ext are built with the lightest components around-made to last one season. If you want a bike that is idiot proof, buy a mid range bike with an aluminium frame.

Its like having R150k to spend on a car-yes you can buy a new VW Up or you can buy an Audi A4. Obviously everyone wants the Audi, but be prepared to pay if something goes wrong!
