Rode some laps yesterday with a guy on a KOna Process 153, which was on my shortlist.  He's a very capable rider and he reckons it's too much bike for SA and the type of riding I'll be doing.  He also reckons the Smuggler is "tits" as he put it ;)

Can't wait to test these bikes!!!

Bike looks sick Mr.Meyer.[emoji106] I know the seatpost ads to the colour scheme, but I cant help but think how much that bike deserves a dropper post.Just thinking out loud though.

So my banshee rune is done...but not complete...still need a dropper and different rotors. Perhaps at a much later stage upgrade fork to pike or fox 36, as well as look at some wider hoops. I have so far just swopped out the WTB rubber for some minions as well as brakes for some Codes (my favourite brakes). Haven't had too much on the bike as yet, but from the little time I've had on her so far she's quite the shredder. Looking forward to getting her out on some rough and steep stuff. Pedals quite well with the KS Link offering good mid stroke support for peddling. Spec as follow;

2016 Banshee Rune 650B

Fox Float-X CTD rear shock (quite impressed)

Fox 34 CTD 160mm Fork

Spank Oozy Trail Ubah Tech Wheelset Rollin on Maxxis Minions

Spank Spike 50mm Stem (wana try 35mm sometime)

Spank Spike Vibrocore 800 bars cut to 780mm

Shimano Saint crankset with Rapide 30T NW

XT Casette with Hope 40T expander

Spank Spike Pedals

Sram X9 Shifter & Rear Mech

Avid Code Brakeset

Still seeking 100-125mm dropper

Next is some different fork stickers to suit slightly (suggestions welcome)

My one do-it-all bike.

Eyeing a Renthal apex 40mm stem.

One thing I still can't get my head around is the 24h front wheel on a 29er all mountain bike.

Nice bike!

My rear wheel made it a year before being totally destroyed. Front wheel is still good. Busy building a new 32H wheelset for my Endoru. Spank Oozy trail 345 rims (30,5mm internal) on Dabomb Strafe hubs.

Cannot wait to see how much stiffer the new wheelset is!

First 40km ride yesterday and all I can say is...man-oh-man what a shredder. The more you push it the better she rides. We had some perfect Loam yesterday and rode some loose bush tunnels, the bike rides well! Love it! :-))
