Any lay-up process of carbon fibre is done by hand. So technically all carbon products are handmade. Think of your pre-school paper mache days - same diffs whether pre preg or epoxy is applied by hand.

This is what I was getting at.  #handgemaaknesjoune

Is that different from other carbon componentry?

YES , it is made in SA with love and care and up there with what any foreign brand can offer and then some.

I support my countryman who are doing a damn good job and not some foreign entity if it can be helped.

yeah, it was around there.

I'm drooling over on this site here...

According to v12 man and Jason @ the Trailhead, they're wonderful. And at $160 or so per rim, a "budget" option.

They seem to tick all the right boxes too. I sometimes wonder where plastic Rovals come from or who makes hoops for Ibis. I won't be too surprised if it comes a factory like that.

Enve's are 100% US though and someone in the previous thread compared the handgemaak ones to ENVE. I'm not sure I would be able to tell the difference between any of them. Assuming they were identical in spec of course. Makes me wonder. If we're just splitting hairs. The prices tends to lend itself away from that notion but hey. An average rider could do with some average prices.

yeah... agreed.

Also tempted to see if I can get hold of some of the new  Giant TRX carbon hoops. Or just stick to alu.

The bike deserves it. Those new giant wheels look the business. About time too.

Its almost as if they were listening to riders. Who knows. maybe for 2018 Giant might decide to put some short stems on their bikes for a change.

Plus

I'm sure a few Trance owners out there wouldn't mind being trickled down by your old wheels. They deserve them too.

I don't think you can compare any of these to the likes of Enve's. Enve doesn't drill spoke holes into the carbon etc.. but you pay a premium.

But yes, that's splitting hairs for the average rider.

Those Americans in the Enve factory have many babies to feed and guns to buy. Pricey lot those full-grown labourers.

So my previous #ENDURO_RIDE is no longer mine.

Can I post my not completed new #ENDURO_RIDE already ....... and can it be classified as an #ENDURO_RIDE if it more than likely will not be raced, but still do the same or similar trails :P

Please pardon some of the polish residue that has not been buffed up yet.
