Nice to see a relative unknown like Jan win a stage, I liked his press interview after the win as well, seems a pleasant humble young fella. Nice win for Radioshack as well.

The peleton didn't initially want to work together to pull the break back and he made full use of the opportunity. I give it a

According to reports the dog wasn't so lucky a bit later on. Got taken out by a tour motorbike.

Froome looked real good but the attack was strange... Wasted energy or practise for stage 3 when the 8% will be 3kms and not 1km

Why not? Everyone is bemoaning the skyborg scientific, power meter, numbers game so why not stretch the legs out a bit and confuse a few people? The first week is always about watching each other, keeping safe, conserving energy etc.

Why not play with the pelaton a bit if you're feeling good? Worked for Nibali in the Giro.

Agreed! I hope a few more unconventional things happen during tour this year......................like a clean tour for 1 :whistling:

It's a helluva lot easier/safer descending a steep twisty road on your own vs in a big bunch. All I saw from Froome's move was intelligent, defensive riding. He only went 150m from the summit so didn't burn any matches.
