Nice to see people so passionate about something. The comparison to Apple is fair, only a handful of companies out there whose customers are loyal enough to actually get a tattoo of the registered logo.

I haven’t done an Ironman, but that definitely doesn’t mean I can’t comment on it.

I have done a few triathlon events over the years, but have never been TSA registered/member of a club. Got 5 Totalsports challenge individual medals in a box at home which I suppose is someway between 70.3 and a full IM.

If Challenge Cape Town could devise a feasible route I’d be in (if the price was right).

Loyality is earned over time and they must be doing something right for 90% of the people out there admire and rate what they do. Both are difinitive leaders in the field. So you openly admit to not contributing to the devlopment of the sport but feel you have a lot to say.

You remind me of people who complain about government but would never go to the ballot box.

Ill ask again - do you know what happened to Challenge Cape Town?

It was only slightly cheaper than IM and people paid, event never happened and most are still trying to get their money. I would rather pay the going rate and be assured of a fantastic event.

In closing did I/we go onto your Jean Pant racer thread and complain about the cost of stage racing? No - in fact I went ahead and liked so you could get your free entry.

Well I got the clamp and a new seat. I also fitted my Dura Ace and my shifters. Now the last piece I need to upgrade is my TT Bars.....

What you getting? Did the bike not come with bars?

So.......................

They promised something "special" for 2014 at the awards ceremony this year......

Any ideas on what we can expect...

So far the only change I know of is the swimming route. Its now 2 laps of differing lengths to hopefully sort out some of the traffic.

Maybe an extra special finishers jersey or something.... Maybe a watch like you get at Challenge Roth?

Don't know if I like the new swim route.

With the 2 laps of the same length, you could say to yourself "Well I'm over halfway" when you got to the beach. Now, you'll be "Hell, I'm not even halfway yet!" when you get to the beach ;)

Yes but they ugly as hell and heavy - don't do the bike justice. I am looking at those T-3 bars............

Got some Uberhund bars if you like, sexy and light, were just a bit narrow for me

The swims just a warmup anyway, I quite like the idea of a shorter loop "to survive" followed by a more measured effort for the longer lap

Entry fee R4 300

That's a good price for IM

Zurich = Chf 685 = R7500

I think Zurich is a transfer option for IMSA, what are the conditions for transfer? Is that like if you enter but cannot start for a valid reason then you can transfer?

As of yesterday Zurich still has 700 entries open for full IM @ end of July
