Have you ever ridden those corrugated roads? Joh they are hard on the ass!

Edit: and I can only dream of going to ride all those lovely trails out at the Hogsback (on your doorstep) with my DS

I do the "lord of the chainrings every year" . Funny thing is that I prefer the HT on single track as it is much more responsive. The only time I will be begging for the full sus is going down "cranck case alley" :cursing:

They have that exact HT at Coimbra, the raw carbon is a thing of beauty!!!

I did the Hogsback trails recently on my HT and crankcase alley was no problem for, did have to dodge a local with a pack of 10 dogs which wasn't pleasant at the speed we were going at.

My money is on the HT unless youre on the other side of 40 and need a softer ride.

I could think of worse decisions that need making, in this case either way you win. Good luck

You'll ride the last 30km of a marathon faster on a dual sus. Unless you are flippen strong or in your 20's. You won't miss the weight saving of a HT. IMO.

If you do go ht I recommend this ass saving gadget:

The hardtail tickles my wallet and the softail tickles my "ass"

you won't be sitting on your wallet for hours on end for years to come...

short term pain - long term gain. dual sus FTW

Dual sus FTW, you could always pump up the shocks for a firmer ride...remote lockout means you essentially have two bike in one interchangeable on the fly!

The only reason I'll possibly get a duallie is for the freakin sinkplaat. And I'm saying from the apparent shady side of the wall.
