Breezer Posted June 9, 2013 Posted June 9, 2013 Good pedals, easy to clip in and out, but get ready to pay, pay and pay. High maintenance.
North Shore Posted June 9, 2013 Posted June 9, 2013 Don't listen to the above. Crank brothers are great for the first month, after which they are nothing but trouble. I've had two sets of eggbeaters and candy's on my AM. Had five rebuilds and two warrantee issues. Get yourself a pair of Look S Track pedals and you can thank me later.

I have a set which came with a bike I bought, was wondering if it was worth trying them.

If your bike had eggbeaters on, ride it until it is broken and than fit something else. Edited June 9, 2013 by Breezer

Thug Posted June 9, 2013 Posted June 9, 2013 I have two sets of eggbeaters, on my XC bike and SS. Meezo 1
MissionMan Posted June 9, 2013 Posted June 9, 2013 Have the candy 2 and have ridden them for over 4 years with no issues. Ill never ride spd's again ...
The Guy in Pink Posted June 9, 2013 Posted June 9, 2013 ditto got two sets, one on each MTB , clip easy in and out regardless of the mud. I have replaced berings in one set after two years - easy to do and the bearing kit is less than R 150.00
deanbean Posted June 9, 2013 Posted June 9, 2013 They are Candy1 pedalsThey are crap. I use egg beaters, candys and mallets. The 1 series pedals are all crap. Get rid of them before they break far from home. 2 series and up are good, but they do need regular maintenance. Breezer 1
Borborygmi Posted June 9, 2013 Posted June 9, 2013 Have been riding egg beaters for 7 years. No problems but they dont like rocks Troi Sport 1
Vetseun Posted June 9, 2013 Posted June 9, 2013 Rode for ages with them. Was happy. Replaced them with Look pedals. Was happier.
flatwheel Posted July 25, 2013 Posted July 25, 2013 Had a couple of different different types and could not find anything working for me. Got a set of candys three years ago and never looked back. For me they are super reliable, engagement is always very positive, and maintenance except normal cleaning is not a problem. I have however found that during VERY muddy conditions you sometimes need to push a bit harder to engage (as with all other pedals that I have used as well) Troi Sport 1
Wonder Woman Posted July 25, 2013 Posted July 25, 2013 Also been on Eggbeaters for 4 years and not a single problem. They are awesome in mud, never have to worry about clipping in or out. GoLefty!! and Troi Sport 2
sampie Posted July 25, 2013 Posted July 25, 2013 Good pedals, easy to clip in and out, but get ready to pay, pay and pay. High maintenance. +1
GoLefty!! Posted July 25, 2013 Posted July 25, 2013 been through several stage races with my eggbeaters and they've never failed. The gen 1 pedals were terrible but that was 11years ago. Troi Sport 1
