Bent seatpost - Throw away or fix?

Recommended Posts

So after hitting a trench in the road quite hard (wasnt paying attention...), the seatpost is now bent!

Can I straighten this or should I chuck it and cough up for a new one?

I cant see any cracks (that dark line is just some grease that was around the seat post clamp) but I suppose that doesnt mean much with metals?

New one required .... Don't want to be 10km away from civilization with a broken seat post ..

Sell it as a set-back seatpost.

Then, delete your hub profile and sell your house. Or you can just bin it...

Was about to say ..now you have a Thomsons elite layback post :whistling:

You got lucky.

Your seatpost bent. It did not snap and the sharp end did not end up in your backside. NOW REPLACE IT.

Amazing. That is a 1 kg seatpost.

Did you try and jump of a cliff with your bike?
