plus R99 shipping, plus wahtever duties, plus vat etc. Yah, can't see myself paying that. When i bought mine, I was contemplating making one myself. Hindsight, I should have taken the couple of days and done that

For the time, effort and money spent building one yourself, and spending time figuring out ow to 'make it better' you're probably better of buying one. I think.

I might get shot for this but Cajees had a great looking stand for R1200. It comes with a parts tray etc...looked very sturdy...

 

I bet you can bargain a couple of rands of that price too.

I seem to remember a home made DIY plan for a bike stand in a bike mag a few years ago. I think I cut it out, so I 'll dig around in the files. If I find it I'll post it here.

Ryder has a stand on the market, normally out of stock, but good quality for around R1000. LBS should be able to order one, if stock is available.

Saw at Mica Hardware that they are selling a stand there for about R600.00 Quite a well known Toolbrand, not sure which one.

 

Is this the one you saw at Midas? I bought one at a show at the Dome recently for R699.00... agents are Hardware Centre in Randburg 011 791 0844. It's not bad, definitely worth the price

I use a holdfast towbar rack fitted with a duplicate base onto the floor. This allows me access around the bike.
