Cycle Fit - setup

Dear All,

 

I recently went for my first professional setup at Cycle Fit and I cannot emphasise the importance of having it done properly. I am honestly of the view that a correct setup will increase your cycling ability by 30%.

 

Please pass on the good words. I wish they offered bike servicing too.

I am still convinced they snuck an engine into my bike somehow... Every single little bump around the cradle has halved in effort since I had my fit done.

I haven't used them But I spoke with them on the phone and they gave me a lot of excellent advice. What I appreciated was they didn't think noobie and see dollar signs and try to rip me off cause it would've been rather easy to do.

 

When I get my next bike I will definitely make use of their service.

I had my specialized done by them. Taking my 'new' mtb back to them because they do make a world of difference with the fine tuning. Highly recommended by me too.

What happens when you need a wider bar, shorter stem or different type of seatpost?

 

Do they supply or do you have to go out and get your own bits.

They have a selection of parts available. But you're not forced to buy from them. In fact they didn't even push a sale on me, just offered, which I took up.

 

So they have a range of shoes, cleats, pedals, bars, stems, saddles, seat posts, and bar tape... And a couple more odds and ends.

 

But they advise on what the correct option is and if they have in Stock, you can buy from them or you're welcome to go out and find your own. I found their pricing very competitive on parts I purchased.

 

All in all, a wonderfully pressure free session. They explain every step and why it's done, as well as what options you have now, and when you're ready, things for the future.

 

And they difference afterwards is remarkable! Serious comfort and efficiency!

Oh and other adds they do is lazer alignment on all the important stuff, and the all measurements are sent to you via email after the session. This is so you can exact fit everything should you change or upgrade parts later... Everything is really helpful!

 

All in all a really good experience...

I have had two road bike fittings done by Richard & Arran, and I have to say on each occasion I have been extremely happy with the service that I received. I will definitely go to them in the future for any new bike fittings.

Sports Science Institute in Newlands. Dr Jeroen Swarts, I think it is.

 

But my physio also pointed out a few things: straighten my back, take the weight off my arms. Also made a huge difference.
