But now I cant bend my leg because of roasties... Were you the ones on stage? Smooth! Any chance I can get a copy of the video? My partner's crash was caught on gopro going down umkomaas.

GI did it using a 510. It was awesome. Very easy to use and follow the map. You can zoom in, and it tells you distance to next turn and which way to turn, it beeps when you need to turn. Great device

Stretch Posted May 19, 2014 Posted May 19, 2014 (edited) so....self navigation next year...as you know the imana wild ride is a self navigated route (although you don't download GPS files..you just need to find your way. Th top guys spend weeks/months before scoping the route looking for sneaks.....whats going to stop the pro's or even the middle of the bunchers doing that next year? Hell..day 1 you could just head down the r617 to pevensey stop...take a right along the donnybrook road...take a left along the mckenzie club district Road and you are home.....unless they are having check spots there are going to be lots of sneaks being sought out...I think its a bad thing myself Edited May 19, 2014 by Stretch

Stretch Posted May 19, 2014 Posted May 19, 2014 What's stopping them doing that now....? now - the route is defined...there are marshalls at a lot of turning points. Next year markings will only be at major turns, so riders can take a sneak can claim they got lost but made an effort to get back on course...how are the organisers going to prove that they intentionally did that?
