Anyone know which Anthem this is?

The guy selling it doesn't know !!??

Looks like a 2013 Anthem X3 frame but someone has spent a bit upgrading it: It has full XT, Avid Elixir brakes levers, Fox forks (not sure which), Rock Shox Monarch at the back.

I'm also assuming the rims didn't come with the bike - C29SSMAXX.

Any idea as to which Anthem it is and what a decent price on it would be?

Look on the Giant bike website they have an Archive section where you can see bikes as far back as 2006 I think

Tried looking on their site.

The frame looks 2013 (the rear triangle has 'Anthem X ALUXX' on it rather than "GIANT"... that seems common on the 2013) but none of them match the component level.

The color scheme matches the X3

It is definitly an Anthem 3 frame with upgrades. The guy selling has spent money on the bike recently with all the upgrades. Surely based on the money he has spent he should have a pretty good idea of cost and therefore a pretty good idea of what he would want in the sale?

If it is a 2013, then I'd be a little suspicious of a guy who owns a bike like this with all the new extras, halfway through 2013, and he has no idea what he owns. Never mind the fact that he has no idea what to ask for it? Ask him what he paid.

Just a thought. If it was a few years old then OK, give him the benefit of the doubt, bu this bike is less than 1 yr old?

Agree with you there, have you seeen the bike personally or is it just mailed pictures?

Would definately be a bit sceptical.

I got a new 2013 Anthem X1 earlier this year with XT shifter upgrade, XT crank upgrade, Tubless Conversion, Geax Aka and Geax Saguro all for around 25k - so you should get a bit of an idea there.

I'm not sure what the cr29ssmax are worth, but that would be where the difference comes I think. I see he also has non standard bars and seatpost (looks like ritchey)

My guess is that he bought the frame and fork (remember its an overdrive 2 steerer, not a normal tapered) and then built a previous bike across.

I don't think I'd offer more than 20k.

Just mailed pictures. From the sounds of it the bike was his sons.

He's after R17k for it but other than the fact that I am a bit sceptical myself ( I obviously know my bikes entire history) I've also been trying to find a reasonably priced Spark 920 or 940.

Maybe ask where he bought the bike, and give the shop a shout? It has a pretty particular set of upgrades so if a LBS did the bike they'd probably remember.

Looks like a warranty replacement frame with those colours, which would explain the non spec parts, I have a brand new frame just like it for sale in the classifieds for R12000 with the original shock and forks from my 2012 X1
