I really enjoyed this race . Beautiful day, beautiful route & nice views, even enjoyed that long climb + endless downhills afterwards a nice bonus. Definitely a good alternative to my annual trek to Staalwater.

 

Maybe I should have gone a bit faster at the beginning and tried to latch on to one of the faster groups, because after the Nieuwoudts pass climb I was basically all on my own for the rest of the route, only saw about 5 other riders on the last 70km of the race, would have preferred not to TT the whole way!

 

But still must have been the fastest mtb race I have ever done, at 100km I was still averaging close to 25km/h which is just insane for someone of my more average abilities! But my lack of winter training began to tell the last 20km and especially that last 5km detour I had a serious loss of sense of humour! Ended up doing close to 5h00.

Timing is one thing........you first need to see your name on the results before you comment on the timing.

Finished the 115km along with another rider, both of our names is not on the results.

Gather there are more riders with the same problem.

That's bad... a friend who did the race, claims that there is about a 50min difference between the time the race organisers recorded and that recorded by his Polar ...The Polar time was 50 minutes faster Anyone else with the same problem?

The intial results loaded, as you saw had riders missing. The pdf published cut results at the bottom of every page off.

 

I do apologise for this!

 

I am waiting for the programmer of the Race Timing program to help me sort out the problem.

 

 

 

Regarding REg Lizard's friend's timing:

 

We had a backup in the form of manual timing on Saturday, this means that every person crossing the line's numbers was written down in sequence.

 

So if she claims that her timing is 50min's out then I will check her name and number against the riders before and after her.

 

We can only look into problems like this if riders come back to us and let us know, "hey please check on my timing as it is diff than what my polar says"

 

 

 

So Reg Lizard what is your friend's name so I can look into it and get it all sorted asap?
