i have been told it is a waste to build a single speed of this frame.......but they dont understand.....

Add a nice flat bar, just to irritate them and you will be styling....

Well it is a single speed! ..... 50 odd years old.....still going strong although the original owner has passed on.

Would like to see that restored to its former glory, looks sweet though

My Ride, 2005 GT Gtr Ultra, Reynolds solitude wheels, Sram force caliper, token carbon stem, Agogo carbon bar, GT saddle, Momsen seat post, old Tiagra rear derailleur as a chain tensioner, Shimano crank, Xposure Pedals and grips and KCNC finishes. Ratio is a 53x21. Luckily my commute is a nice flat 12.5 kms from Fish Hoek to Tokai.

Maiden SS voyage in the Cradle yesterday. 72-odd km later and begging for more. I still have to remove the large chainring and downtube shifters. Super comfy ride and nice and quick compared to the MTB I normally ride. She might even do a bit of commuter-duty.

Running 42x18 which seems perfect.

Shimano 600 Tri-colour brake levers and calipers, 600 crankset, M540 mtb pedals, San Marco Rolls saddle (wow it's comfy). I need time to build the front wheel that matches - I have a 600 tri-colour 36-hole hub from eBay and some old school mavic rims.

Reynolds 500 cro-mo frame tubing means it's not light!

Not sure if I can post this here. Kona Unit SS 29er frame with Velocity Deep V's and Schwalbe CX Comp tyres.
