A family friend of ours has one. She's done 4 trips to Cape Town and back in it so far.

Very cute and very light on juice ..(I hear.). he has only had it 3 days.

It is a 2018 demo model and had a whole 19km on the clock when we got it.[emoji4]

Well being a Datsun, it should be reliable.

The only problem I have read about which is quite frightening is the Ncap safety test results. Scored a frightening 0 I think if I remember correctly.

At 13km/h it better be light on diesel as well!! It will take me a while to get to work at 13km/h! :D :D

Sorry, meant 13km/L. Fat fingers on small screen. [emoji1787][emoji44][emoji2960]

I read that.. but they have made some changes to improve safety since that. Edited by Gen

What's wrong with the Mahindra Scorpio? [emoji2955][emoji848][emoji6] We own two 2018 models in Dc and Sc, 2.2L diesel turbo with intercooler, very light on fuel, all the bell's and whistles like any other Japanese/German bakkie and when I go to town I always park close to the "better" makes because then I know mine will still be there after affirmative shopping. [emoji1787]

Nothing wrong with them at all, and if I was buying a new DC they'd be right up there. But let's face it, in the grand scheme of things they're not really.... i dunno... chub-worthy. IE not particularly attractive. Like Ms Jenner with OR without her makeup.

Has been addressed. Now have double airbags and ABS, which it did not have before.

Some other safety changes was also made. Let's wait and see how it now performs in the Ncap tests. (doubt there will be much improvement :whistling: )

You mean, like the Nissan NP300 (hardbody) did?

And to think, they have been sold in SA for many, many years as the older Hardbody. [emoji2955]

They don't bother me. Certainly filled a gap price wise. I don't own a car though. I want to buy a new Suzuki Jimny as I think they look awesome. And excellent 4X4. Drive around the country and ride my bike. Just not this year or next. Maybe year after.

Only heard good reviews from owners.

Bear in mind the NP300 is a 10year old design, maybe even older. Our 1987 Merc 230E would also not pass any of today's safety standards, but we were quite happy travelling 1000's of km in it. It comes from a different era.

and every couple of years they make it harder to score points in the N-Cap.

If you dont have some of the fancy electronic safety stuff these days you'll never score 5 stars.

I dont think the issue is with them selling the low rated vehicles, its more a case of the customers are not made aware of the low rating.
