Great event, lets hope for some more wind and a few less stacks in our SV bunch....

You presume that we are going to have a league.

Can anyone say if this is a CSA sanctioned event?

I am not 100% up to date on the PPA CSA story but from what I understand is that league riders need to be registered with CSA in order to ride in the league but they don’t need a racing license. The league format might change slightly but seems like we might have some feedback later this month.

Will update you as soon as we have the latest news.

Sadly I wish to advise you that the West Coast Express is no longer a league event as the league series has been cancelled in its entirety. The reasons for this are;

· 2 of the organising bodies have cancelled their events leaving only 3 league rides,

· The spat between CSA and PPA has not yet been resolved

I am hoping that this will not affect the event too much and trust that the league riders will race within their seeded groups.

there is nothing from stopping the organisers from arranging a race for those that way inclined in front of the funride.

Huh?If you don't want people to race in their seeded groups there is no point doing the race,wearing a timing chip or even timing the event.Might as well just save some money and go for a coffee shop ride.

Sorry Stringbean - was typo on my side, have corrected.

Thanks Mdk.Racing in your seeded group is sometimes not the safest thing to do as well as not having any marshals on the ride to make things safer.Will keep the racing to the league ride on the Saturday ,might have to give the WCE a miss tho,can't afford to to them all.

This is a well supported event as everyone has just signed up for the Argus and has dusted off their bikes and reckons 85km is not too much of a push.

It is rather flat and only the wind makes it a challenge, its a good start to get used to group riding.

Its always enjoyable!
