Guys, CWC is tempting me badly..... How good is R11000 odd for a full XX1 groupset??

remember to add 15.4% that they charge you when you bring it in. I saw cwc had a good price on xx1 with x01 cassette.

edit: sorry read that as crc.

Been riding 1x10 on a little 650b rigid carbon race monster lately. Must admit, on a fast, short (anything up to 100 or so km) MTB specific race it is cool. 34 chain ring and 11-36 cassette.

It forces me to climb harder and on any decent route doesnt lose out on top end speed.

On something like a non stop AR or endurance event or loooong rides I wouldnt think its a good idea. It reduces the comfort factor a bit and takes a lot out of the legs. Rode Groenlandberg (14km non stop climb) a couple of weeks ago and by the top I could feel I had been riding!

I still think a well maintained 2x10 is the answer. The Granny gear is there to help you keep a bit in the tank or keep you going after the blowout! hahahaha

Had my 1st ride today with xx1 groupset. Chose a really hilly ride to try it out with the 32T blade. I struggled to get into a rhythm on the climbs. I could not find a gear I could tap out a good rhythm while putting down decent power on the climbs.

Is this normal? Does it take some getting use too? It is not that I ran out of gears but rather awkward ratios compared to my xtr groupset. It could also be that I had a fairly hard ride on sat, mon and tue and now today..................

Always need some time to get used to new ratios, I've noticed that at first it will feel wrong as you are used to the old ratios you've ridden with but with time as long as there is enough range for your uses it'll become like second nature again.

Then again I've found some ratios just suit me better, noticed that when going from 9speed to 10speed but at the end of the day as long as the range you need is there you can find a comfortable rhythm.
