Is a 'Pro', as in Kevin Evans, and a 'Pro' who competes at the Deaflympics the same type of Pro...?

Does the OP want to compete at (for lack of a better term) normal/able bodied professional level or is the professional deaf athlete level a whole different ball/wheel game...?

As in, Special Olympics vs Olympics.

Oscar is a Pro, and Usain is a Pro, but theyre very different Pro's...

Good Question MTBaaiskllist, Deaflympic is for Deaf athletic with depend on db hearing loss so far mostly are Pro and some of them are semi-pro in my opinion. I'm just trying my best ability to take part of MTB for Deaflympic in 2017 which it will hosted in 2017.

This is why I'm starting the thread to ask for help with your experience for gym and I will start other thread for further question :)

Now again, not trying to be condescending.

Go to the 60 km. events and see if you can yield the same result.

Then go to 120 km. events and see if you can yet do the same.

That's what it takes to become pro. except not even top 10 is good enough.

Well done on your achievements thus far, by the way.

Wyatt Earp. I agree with you 100% i did the red stone 40Km last year and finished last. this year i did the 20Km and finished top 30, the realisation came when i doubled my time and add on 20min for the distance i would have imporved my time from last year but i still would have finnished in the last 10 riders.

i am not saying that i am in the top guys by no means. what i am saying is that if you put in effort you can clime the ladder. yes once you are getting near the top of a certain level and there is a higher level then you need to make the jump and improve again. you can only say that you are on top, when you have competed on the world stage and proved it, but untill you have, you can only push more.

i am an old bugger for this game so i decided that the shorter faster rides is what i am happy doing, i am not after pro status anymore. i have my name in the great book so i have made my mark on the world. for me its about fun and pushing my own limits.

enough about me. my point was that if your goal is to be on top, then you can get there with work and lots of it. speak to and listen to anyone that will talk to you.

i heard a saying the other day that made sense to me.

"If you want something bad enough to stop breathing for it, you will get it" work work work thats all it takes.

Absolutely, I am an old bugger myself.

Best we can do is enjoy what we do to the max

Hey Spider, Just caught up reading this thread, I hope you all the best with your goals

How is the training going so far?

I also believe that a gym program can compliment your riding performance, I'm sure in 90% of sports that is the case, especially if you very serious about it.

What you put in you will get out. I would know. When I started out in NGP I was last in about every race. Not sure what I would do in races now... 10 to 1 DNF.

Get an overall gym routine. Work the whole body, not just your legs. Work on your core as well. Core is rather important.

Try to get to the gym twice per day. Before I fell in love I used to do Cardio in the morning and strength at night.

Get advice on your diet as well. And read read and read. Cycling can be fun, a science or just a waste of time and effort. Again, what you put in you will get out...

Oh and get on the spinning bikes. Stay of those things with electric lights. And if you can join in on the spinning classes till you get the hang of things. Then start working on your own program. And catching that nice ass in front of you works... till you get a vet AWB t tannie....
