Shot for that, which is gonna be better for ventilation??, leather and Durban shouldn't be in the same sentence

I rode in Durban with my Freerider VXi's for most of my leave over December/January and not once did I think about my feet being hot. I do have the standard VXi's and not the VXi Elements. The souls on my VXi's dont seem to be holding up very well, to the point where I am considering emailing pics to the suppliers and complaining :whistling:

I've just realized why your soles are so worn - you need to start riding up the hills and stop pushing!! :w00t: :whistling:

Hi Guys

Ditched my Cleated shoes and tried a stint at Tokai on flats and I'm sold !

I am looking to get a pair of 5-10's Can't get hold of Diald Bikes - no one answering the phone? Will try and email them as well.

I see that Mountain Mail Order also stock them.

Which shoe do you guys suggest. I prefer something in plain black - looking at the Impact Low. do yu guys recommend it? I'm no downhill master, but just want a decent shoe to pair with my flat pedals - most of my riding will be in Tokai if that helps.

Pricing is R1625 at both stores.

I have these, and they are awesome and very well priced:

Truth be told, you will be better off with any 5.10 shoe. Pick a model, any model and go ride. Some have more grip, some a little less, but you can balance that out with your choice of pedals and arranging the pins on them.

For DH I use 510 impact lows with CB 50/50's and have had no problems. Just remember that it isn't that easy to move your feet once you are standing on those pins....

Maybe look for some with ventilation for trail type riding....

That's why I like the Freeriders. They have the added benefit of not looking this thing's lovechild:

I've got pairs of Freeriders and Hellcats.

The Freeriders are lighter and cooler. The Hellcats are heavier, have stiffer soles, and look nicer, in my opinion.

The Hellcats work just as well on flat pedals as the Freeriders by the way.

I don't think you can go wrong with any 5.10s...

Got a pair off CRC and the other off Mountain Mail Order, no problems with either of those.
