Maybe he had lights and the batteries had all rundown...

Like the OP said, how irresponsible, if you don't make sure that your lights have enough charge for your ride, you may as well not even bother.

I know I will be flamed for this but why worry about it, that cyclist has decided to take the risk :ph34r:

Nailing the guy in my car would certainly become my problem :-(

I also had a problem with battery life and got caught with no front light last week but I always make a point of having 1 spare light (el cheepo flashing red led) so I can at least be visible (kinda common sense I thought).
