Hi

The bikes are moving indoors but I cannot mount them against the wall. I'm looking at a nice floor stand such as this one from Minoura;

Any idea where I can buy their products locally or have you seen something similar in a shop here ?

I like the idea that the wheel can still spin, so I can use this outside when washing the bike as well and easily lube the chain.

Just doesn't seem right to lean the MTB against the pool table ...

Thanks guys. Saw similar ones at Cycle lab for R175 in either 26" or 29" sizes. This assumes the rear triangle is fairly similar for all bikes so I would prefer if the 2 hooks were height adjustable. Could be that you put your bike on but pedals can't rotate 360 ... Maybe I should just take the plunge ...

The rear triangle takes up the slack with minimal movement of the bike forwards/backwards = no need to be adjustable at all.

If you know someone that can weld, a 6m length of square tubing should cost you about R50 odd (makes 3 stands minimum), then you've just got to paint it and stick a little piece of silicone tube on, to prevent it scratching your frame.

All in all about R75 each max.

I want to move the bikes out of the spare room, get stands and throw a cover over them, like the motor bike ones and put them out on the balcony. My bikes are cheapies - OP did you get them,, did they work?

Hi

Please could somebody tell me the height of a stand and the distance between the two hanger hole?

I am bust making four of this as we speak and need to extend the upright support.

Appreciate it, Ta

Everything 4cm lower

spanner in the works, why don't you get one of those ones that you see at the cycle expo's that you clip your quick release onto and it holds the back wheel off the ground, it is a triangle shaped thingy.

Many thanks Joe, just what I wanted to know. Busy with some stainless I have lying around. Have a plan to make them collapsible. Have completed the bases and they are great. Just need to extend the uprights with I wider pipe. These stands will be able to be used as a workstand with a collapsible base with a wingnut type locking mechanism. Thanks for the measurements.

I have one of these but the bike keeps falling over. Not so lekker. It is up for grabs if anybody wants it?
