I see entries are closed, any team with an open spot please let me know. I am dying to enter.

Have never done one before but I did the jock this year, 3 punctures in a time of 5:40. Not to bad but could have been better. But in these flatter races I can def avg around 33-38 km/h

DC not flat and is a team event

Ofcourse its a team event, hence I am asking if a spot in any team open up, I am available.

Well I have checked the profile and its certainly not a Mountain stage and if compared to the Jock it is a lot flatter.

Based on classification there is

1 Level 2 Climb

1 Level 3 Climb

4 Level 5 Climbs

Does anyone know if the route has been repaired for the DC after it was damaged on that one stretch last year? Or are we going off-road again this year?

I've done both and IMO you cant compare the two at all. The jock might be 151km, but you aren't even on the bike for more than 2h30 (worst case scenario for stage 3) at a time, so there is a lot of rest in between which compensates for any amount of climbing. The real tough part of the DC is the wind, we were luck to have the wind up our bum last year all the way from Robertson to Swellendam but if you have a head wind on that section like most other years, it is hell.

after 150 k's even the fittest are tired. but i reckon the cape teams will be setting a new record this year as they have just come off a 5 race series which featured 160 k races.
