Biggest natural talent in my opinion is Bayliss... He was like 23 the first time he rode a bike, ever. Gets on wins... Won in Motogp and SBK.

This must have been one of the biggest passes ever. I dont think he was in control, but he made it stick, like he forgot to brake at first.

There was also a race in Germany I think once where him and Haga were going at it, at one point they were passing either side of backmarkers in the same corner...

Retires.

Does the launch of the 1098 road bike, sets a lap at the launch, that would have put him on the front row of the World SuperStock race, in ROAD TRIM!!

But most importantly he seems like the guy I could get drunk with.

Those Bayliss and Edwards battles were epic ... Edwards on the then new VTR1000SP1 ... twin battles were awesome. Man that VTR had grunt in a straight line, Edwards made that bike something to be proud of for Honda.

Now thats a party!!

On that topic. At Kyalami when Haga rode the R7 for the first time, we had VIP Yamaha access, I saw him come out of the bathroom smiling about 30mins before a race, leathers tied around the waist, followed a few seconds later by a pit poppie wiping the corners of her mouth...

I think those guys partied hard...

Nee sies man... He also won a championship over another because of race direction. Haga took "thins" and had his Kylami points stripped...

yea that was proper robbery. He should of won the championship that year. And that R7 was not the best bike on the grid either . One of the quickest wsbk riders never seen to win a title.

For sure he was a complete arse. If you have read his book you would have no doubt about that. But, for some reason, I still loved watching him race

He was tough as nails! Moany as hell, but typical working class grit and fight.

Didnt like him, but damn he was respected. The fact that he did road races too just showed his sack was huge!

for sure he was as arrogant on the track as he was off...made for good racing and swearing at him by shouting at the tv.

Don't forget the legandary Joey Dunlop as well at the IOM TT. Even a statue of him on the Island on his beloved VTR1000SP1
