The story:

Was looking for a deul-sus mtb after riding/racing hard tail for about 2-3 years, so I went to Hot Spot Cycles, as I do regularly, to find out what is available out there and what they recommend. Saw the Commencal Meta 5.5 there and loved it, I did shop around a bit (actually a lot) and read plenty of reviews, but in the end I decided on the Meta. I ordered the 5.5.2 in a large frame size, a week later the shop phoned to tell me they cannot get me with a large in the grey meta frame...I almost fainted, luckily before I did Nico said to me that the guy from Commencal said that he has a large frame in the white team colours, and if I?m happy with that I can get it for the same price......needless to say I said GO!!!!!

Then I decided with the white frame white spoked- wheels will look killer, so got hold of iCycling, and in no time I had them, they really made an effort to get the wheels to me ASAP, and they did!

So, there are still people out there to really give us the riders some excellent service! Thanks guys the bike rocks!!!

don't know, but I do know that a UK mag I think "maintainbikeUK" tested it against a bunch of other simmilar bikes and gave th Commencal 10/10......s20080212_121830_P1010289_-_Copy.JPGo that said a lot, together with all the reviews out there.

We put a set of those bling alligator discs on LBB's S-works hardtail before the fountains national. They do look the dogs you know whats in that gold colour! He reckons that braking is pretty much the same as with the original Avid ones.

I have also put some of the silver ones on my S-works (160 back and 180 front), not so concerned with bling! I also find braking pretty much the same but the rear makes a wierd noise, not enough to bug you though! Having said that the Avid original wavy ones also tend to sound a bit like a turkey ........

yip, I am SOOOO happy and impressed, so far ALL of the parts behaving as should! BigBen, so far those rotors kick-*ss, but I do have the original Formula Oro rotors and will keep them close, in-case.

must say that the ride is so smooth and that rear-sus works like nothing else!!! Can recommend this to any and everyone!!!! Mampara, no sh*t with that comment on the paint, these guys know what they do!

PS. thought the couch only for selling bikes, my bad!!

Guys, stop it. You are making me blush. Embarrassed. BUT, thanks.

Jchain. Glad that you are happy with our service and the bike. That frame is actually a limited edition. Only 50 in the country, so you should not see many other riders with it. Wink

Depending where you are staying, we organise some regular COMMENCAL rides in the JHB, PTA area. You are welcome to join us. Pop me an email on info@commencal.co.za, if you are keen.

Happy trails.
