I see Jonathan Tiernan-Locke is out of Team GB, not having a great season is he. He was racing with Chris in the one-days in Canada, had a bad fall there but not much other news. His move to Sky hasn't really seemed to have worked out, and he did so well in 2012....

They are all riding for Chris, who seems to have found some late season form, but perhaps a big ask after all that TdF effort which must have been an enormous emotional drain, but all the best to him, bring it home for 'ole Blighty bro.

I wonder if we'll see the team versus country loyalty conflicts again. I always love seeing riders with the same bike and helmet riding together rather than with the same jersey and pants ;-)

Reckon the Italians are going to definitely work together to get a win on home soil.

Agreed on the italians but teams like Cannondale and OmegaPharma have strong loyalty and strong sprinters - I reckon there will be some cross team/country pulling...

I agree, the trade teams give out contracts and pay the Euro's not the countries... and often the team leaders / sprinters impact exactly who gets those contracts and indirectly how many of those euros...

plus if you have the rainbow jersey you parade it for a year whilst riding for your team. Always open for conflicts and split allegiances!
