nope, I guess all of us are hoping that some unknown bloke will come by and stir the pot around, but this type of thing just doesn't happen in modern cycling. maybe it happened once before (in 1999 when armstrong jumped onto the scene), but now we know why...

That is indeed a superb squad.

One can only imagine that Wiggins threw his toys out the cot (again) at not being the team leader and I have no doubt he will leave the team at the end of the season.

I think the days when an individual can win it on sheer talent, crazy long breakaways and individual brilliance are long gone. In the modern age if you don't have a top team around you then doesn't matter how good you are. Sure, a top 10 GC without support is possible for a lone ranger on a smaller team, but there's a big chasm between top 10 and top step of podium.

Big questions around Richie tho. I might be very unfair of him to say this, but with his illnesses, etc this year he seems to be seriously undercooked and certainly not the rider he was last year. I predict a big day from him one day, only to be followed by the wheels falling off the next day. Hopefully he can ride into form by the 3rd week. Froome will be really needing him then. Otherwise, I won't surprised to see him being isolated by other teams tag-teaming against him, esp. in the final week.

Sky might be in a bit of bother this year. Looking very vulnerable in my opinion.

OK, Ultimate Dream Teams is finally online with the 2014 TDF Fantasy League  .

Click here to sign up and enter your team.

I have also created a mini league for hubbers:

League name: TheHubSA

League code: 18929198107995

NB: This not intended in any way to subvert the Fantasy Comp that geraldm24 has created (I will be entering that one as well). But this is the main national online Fantasy League and just another way for us to get into the mix and enjoy the Tour.

So get signed up and select your team!

I think its still possible, the top guys like 'Berto, Valverde and probably Froome dont need a team in the mountains, they can look after themselves when the gradient goes up, what they do need is a team to get them to the base of the mountain safely, but then if really necessary they could just hide in the peleton as well, big Jan made a career of doing just that, apart from a short stint when he had Vino as a team mate he pretty much rode the tour on his own.
