CHECK YOUR SEATPOST

Snapped a bolt at northern farm a few years back. Put the saddle in my back pocket and rode back to the car standing. About 5 km I guess. I had no idea how often you sit down normally - wasn't as easy as I thought it would be!

You would've been a star if you could've captured that on a GoPro.

Hope you heal up well!

VERY insensitive Squier!

But I suspect it would have deposed Miley from the most viewed (by me at least) on Youtube!

All the best BM!!

It is a constant fear of mine. I am dik at 92kg and a clumsy rider. Always worried a seatpost or handlebar might break. For the above reason I have steared clear of carbon - is that relevant or just neurosis?

Carbon is much stronger than any other material found on a modern bike

But it has a way of having catastrophic failures that aluminum generally doesn't

With the Hakahana race I went past 3 different riders whose saddles had broken off.

It will never break on a normal flat section of road. It normally goes at speed and in a technical section as well as 30 km from your car.
