I am just starting with the new hobby of mountain bikes, I will like to purchase bergamount MTB Contrail 5.2. Is this a good bike.

Bergamont bikes seem like very good value, but just to correct Rouxtjie they are not BMC's budget bikes. BMC is a Swiss bicycle manufacturer and Bergamont have been building bikes in Germany since 1993. Although BMC are now the majority share holder of Bergamont.
